About Edithvale
Edithvale is a beachside suburb of Melbourne in the City of Kingston, on the eastern shore of Port Phillip Bay about 28 km south-east of the city centre. The district was known as Aspendale until the Edithvale railway station opened in 1919, named after Edithvale Road and the farm of early settlers John and Edith Greaves. Edithvale is known for its long white-sand beach and historic bathing boxes, while the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands at its rear are a Ramsar-listed remnant of the former Carrum Swamp.
