About Tawonga

Tawonga is a town in the Kiewa Valley in north-east Victoria, on the Kiewa Valley Highway in the Alpine Shire about 350 kilometres north-east of Melbourne. One of the oldest settlements in the valley, with its post office opening in 1879, it lies at the base of Mount Bogong, the highest peak in Victoria, with views of the Victorian Alps. The town provides accommodation and ski-hire facilities for the Falls Creek alpine resort.
