About Myrtleford
Myrtleford is a town in north-eastern Victoria, about 47 kilometres south-east of Wangaratta on the Great Alpine Road. The rich soils of the valley support vegetable, berry, nut and olive growers, and the town is a centre of the Alpine Valleys wine region. During World War II a prisoner-of-war camp for Italian internees operated nearby.
