About Howqua

Howqua is a remote rural locality in the Shire of Mansfield, nestled in the foothills of the Victorian Alps about 130 kilometres north-east of Melbourne. The area is named for the Howqua River and is known for the Howqua Hills Historic Area, with gold-era huts, walking trails, and proximity to Lake Eildon and the Alpine National Park.
