About Enochs Point
Enochs Point is a former gold-mining settlement on the Big River, a tributary of the Goulburn, in the forested ranges of Victoria's upper Goulburn district. Gold workings began in 1854 and the township's school operated from 1870 to 1907. Construction of the Eildon reservoir in 1922 cut off access down the Big River valley, and the area is now a 4WD-accessed bush camping and trout-fishing destination.
