About Balmattum
Balmattum is a pastoral locality in the Strathbogie Shire of north-eastern Victoria, situated between Euroa and Violet Town. Named after Balmattum Hill, thought to derive from an Aboriginal word meaning man lying on his back, the area features open, relatively treeless grazing country near the Hume Freeway. It was part of the historic Seven Creeks pastoral run.
