About Boho
Boho is a small rural locality in the Strathbogie Shire of north-central Victoria, situated about 8 kilometres south of Violet Town and roughly 150 kilometres north-northeast of Melbourne. The landscape of farming country and granite foothills at the edge of the Strathbogie Ranges was settled in the 1870s as selectors took up land from former pastoral runs, with grazing for meat and wool now the dominant land use. The locality is named after a village in County Fermanagh, Ireland, reflecting the heritage of early Irish settlers who arrived in the district during the 1860s and 1870s.
