About Euroa

Euroa is a town on Seven Creeks in the Shire of Strathbogie in north-east Victoria, on the road route between Melbourne and Albury. Seven Creeks, a tributary of the Goulburn River, rises in the Strathbogie Ranges where seven streams converge. The district was taken up as the Faithfulls Creek and Seven Creeks pastoral runs in 1838, and the Forlonge family later imported some of Victoria's first Saxon fine-wool sheep. The name Euroa comes from an Aboriginal word said to mean 'joyful'.
