About Mount Camel

Mount Camel is a rural locality in the City of Greater Bendigo, named for the nearby Mount Camel Range, a north-south Cambrian greenstone ridge in the Heathcote wine region. The area is known for viticulture, particularly Shiraz grown on its ancient greenstone soils, with several cellar doors along the Heathcote-Rochester Road. Heathcote, about 17 kilometres south, is the nearest service town.
