About Kamarooka North
Kamarooka North is a rural locality in the Shire of Loddon, about 35 km north of Bendigo. It is part of the Kamarooka district, whose name is an Aboriginal word meaning 'wait a while'; the area was settled as grazing country from the 1840s, saw gold mining activity in the 1860s, and is now used for grazing and cropping.
