Big Hill is a suburb in the City of Greater Bendigo, forming part of the Big Hill range immediately south of the city. The Calder and Midland highways pass through a prominent cutting in Big Hill as the main southern entrance to the Bendigo Valley, a route used since the gold rush era of 1851.
