About Mandurang
Mandurang is a locality in the City of Greater Bendigo in Victoria, about 10 km south of Bendigo and reputed by Geoscience Australia to be the geographic centre of the state. It grew as a goldfield settlement and logging locality, and today consists largely of small farms and wineries. The name is a corruption of the Djadjawurrung word Munndorong, meaning large black cicada, and parts of the Greater Bendigo National Park lie in the locality.
