About Warrenheip
Warrenheip is a suburb of Ballarat, Victoria, on the eastern rural-urban fringe, named after nearby Mount Warrenheip, an extinct volcano whose Wathaurong name means emu feathers. Settled from the 1870s by Irish farming families who grew potatoes in the rich volcanic soil, it was once a railway junction and is now dominated by light industry and business parks with large semi-rural residential blocks.
