Mount Prospect is a small rural locality in the Hepburn Shire of central Victoria, about 107 kilometres north-west of Melbourne. The area sits on the fringes of the Daylesford Goldfield on rich volcanic basalt soils, with broad rolling agricultural fields and open countryside typical of the goldfields district.
