About Newlyn North

Newlyn North is a locality in the Shire of Hepburn in central Victoria, named after the Cornish village of St Newlyn East. The area was settled from the mid-1850s by miners from the nearby Creswick goldfields who turned to farming. Newlyn North was separated from neighbouring Newlyn as a distinct locality in 1915 following a post-office naming dispute.
