About Eganstown
Eganstown is a small rural town in the Shire of Hepburn, Victoria, about 7 kilometres south-west of Daylesford on the Midland Highway. Originally known as Deep Creek, the town was renamed after John Egan who secured a pastoral lease here in 1848, and was once second only to Daylesford for gold mining yields.
