About Lucas

Lucas is a rapidly growing residential suburb of the City of Ballarat, Victoria, located four kilometres west of Ballarat Central. Created on 23 June 2011 from a former part of Cardigan, the suburb was named after Eleanor Lucas and the Lucas Girls, staff of E. Lucas and Company textile firm, who planted Ballarat's Avenue of Honour after World War I. Streets in the suburb are named after soldiers honoured on the Avenue of Honour. Lucas features modern housing, parks, walking trails and the Lucas Town Centre.
