About Ingliston

Ingliston is a small rural locality in Moorabool Shire on the Melbourne-Ballarat corridor, between Bacchus Marsh and Ballan. Characterised by rolling hills, farmland and bushland, it was named after the Ingliston Estate established by Scottish settler John McDouall, with a post office operating from 1858.
