About Creswick North

Creswick North is a locality in the Shire of Hepburn in the Ballarat region of central Victoria, situated about 5 kilometres north of the historic goldfields town of Creswick. The area lies on the basaltic volcanic plains of the Central Highlands, forming part of the Creswick deep-lead goldfield described by UNESCO as the world's richest deep alluvial goldfield, and is included in the Victorian Goldfields World Heritage tentative list. Creswick North Primary School was opened in 1878, reflecting the population drawn by the mining boom.
