About Ascot (Ballarat - Vic.)
Ascot is a rural locality in the City of Ballarat in Victoria, about 10 kilometres west of Creswick. The small settlement, never connected to the rail line, developed into an agricultural district on rich chocolate soil. A post office named Ascot opened in October 1858 and served the area until 1969.
