About Bromley
Bromley is a rural locality in the Victorian goldfields, between Bendigo and Maryborough, three kilometres south-east of Dunolly. Gold was discovered here in 1854 at Burnt Creek, the locality's original name, attracting a rush of about 400 miners and a peak mining population of about 3,000 by 1856.
