About Arcoona
Arcoona is a pastoral lease and sheep station in the arid outback of South Australia, about 28 km north-east of Woomera. The station existed from before 1880, when the owner of the Parakylia lease sold its western portion and renamed the remainder Arcoona. Sold in 1909 stocked with 12,000 sheep, it became a substantial pastoral holding, and the surrounding land was gazetted as the locality of Arcoona in 2013.
