About Beetaloo Valley

Beetaloo Valley is a locality in the southern Flinders Ranges of South Australia's Mid North region, centred on the historic Beetaloo Reservoir. The reservoir was created by a gravity dam built in 1890 across Crystal Brook and, though decommissioned for drinking water supply, is now stocked for recreational fishing and managed as a nature-based visitor destination. The locality sits on the traditional lands of the Nukunu people, about 16 kilometres north of Crystal Brook and 26 kilometres east of Port Pirie.
