About Beaufort (SA)
Beaufort is a small rural locality on the Augusta Highway in the Mid North region of South Australia, between Port Wakefield and Balaklava. The landscape is characterised by broadacre grain farming and pastoral grazing on open agricultural land, with the town of Balaklava providing the nearest shops and community facilities. Surveyed in 1878, the locality has a long history in the Wakefield River district.
