About West Croydon

West Croydon is an inner-western suburb of Adelaide about 5 km from the central business district, in the City of Charles Sturt, between Torrens Road and Port Road. The area was farmland until the early 1920s, when it was subdivided from East View Farm, established in 1840, and it is home to a glass manufacturing plant that has operated on the suburb's western edge since 1914 and now supplies wine bottles to the Barossa and McLaren Vale. The suburb is well served by trains on the Outer Harbor and Grange lines.
