About Henley Beach
Henley Beach is a coastal suburb of Adelaide, about 10 km west of the city centre, in the City of Charles Sturt. Named after Henley-on-Thames in England, it was laid out as a seaside resort from 1877 and grew around its jetty, horse tramway and the popular Henley Beach Carnival. Today it is a well-loved swimming and dining beach with Henley Square, a heritage-listed town hall and a foreshore reserve along Gulf St Vincent.
