About Yenda (Qld)
Yenda is a rural locality in the North Burnett Region of Queensland, 26 km north-north-east of Gayndah. The Burnett River forms its south-western boundary. Mount Lawless rises in the far south-east. The locality name derives from a pastoral run taken up by Robert Wilkin and is believed to be an Aboriginal word meaning swamp. Yenda Provisional School operated from 1925 to 1926 as a half-time school shared with Mingo Crossing.
