About Yandaran

Yandaran is a rural town and coastal locality in the Bundaberg Region, about 34 kilometres north-west of Bundaberg. The name is believed to derive from an Aboriginal word meaning watershed. The North Coast railway line passes through the locality, which is characterised by sugarcane farming, cattle grazing and open rural landscapes. A World War I Roll of Honour commemorating eight local servicemen from Yandaran, Waterloo and Miara reflects the district's long-settled history.
