About Avondale (Qld)

Avondale is a rural town and locality in the Bundaberg Region of Queensland, located about 26 kilometres north-west of the Bundaberg CBD on the Kolan River. The town grew around the 1891 subdivision of the Avondale Estate, marketed as having the richest soil in Queensland, and the North Coast railway line passes through the locality. The economy is based on sugarcane, macadamias and grazing on the flat alluvial plains of the Burnett and Kolan river systems.
