About Wuruma Dam

Wuruma Dam is a rural locality in the North Burnett Region of Queensland, located about 48 kilometres northwest of Eidsvold and 458 kilometres north-northwest of Brisbane. The locality centres on Lake Wuruma, contained entirely within its boundaries, formed by the Wuruma Dam, a gravity dam across the Nogo River completed in 1969 at a cost of 5.3 million dollars. Standing 44 metres high with a capacity of 194,000 megalitres, the dam supplies water for irrigation and town use for Eidsvold, Mundubbera, and Gayndah, and is stocked with fish requiring a Stocked Impoundment Permit. The surrounding landscape features mountains including Arthurs Knob at 414 metres and Mount Eagle at 391 metres.
