About Selene

Selene is a rural locality in the North Burnett Region of Queensland, about 333 kilometres northwest of Brisbane. The area was once served by the Mungar Junction to Monto railway line, which opened to Selene in 1927 with stations at Selene and Tuturi, and a local state school operated from 1926 to 1965. The surrounding landscape is characterised by open grazing country with scattered timber.
