About Owanyilla
Owanyilla is a rural town and locality in the Fraser Coast Region, about 20 kilometres south-west of Maryborough on the Bruce Highway. The Mary River forms its western boundary and the North Coast railway line runs through the locality. Settled from the 1840s, it served as a Native Police barracks and later as a stop on the road south of Maryborough.
