About North Isis

North Isis is a rural locality in the Bundaberg Region of Queensland, situated approximately 6.6 kilometres north-northwest of Childers and 46 kilometres south-southwest of Bundaberg. The area forms part of the Isis agricultural district, historically one of Queensland's most important sugar cane growing regions, with a network of cane tramways transporting harvested cane to the local sugar mill. The Knockroe sugar mill operated in the locality from 1893 until it was dismantled for re-use by CSR around 1902.
