About Lake Borumba
Lake Borumba is a rural locality in the Gympie Region of Queensland, centred on the reservoir of the same name created by Borumba Dam across Yabba Creek. The dam was built in the early 1960s by the Queensland Government to supply irrigation and drinking water, with a workers' village and school operating beside the construction site until the dam was completed in 1964. The lake is now a popular fishing spot.
