About Hivesville
Hivesville is a small rural town in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, located approximately 11 kilometres east of Proston on the Proston-Wondai road. Originally known as Jaumbill, an Aboriginal word meaning yam, the town was renamed after pioneer settler George Hives.
