About Glanmire (Qld)
Glanmire is an urban industrial locality in Gympie, situated 6.5 kilometres south-east of the central business district along the Bruce Highway. Named after Glanmire in County Cork, Ireland, it lies on the Gympie goldfield where deep reef mining operations were active from the 1870s through the early 1900s. The locality contains the Gympie Industrial Estate and Ray Warren Oval, home of the Gympie Cats Australian rules football team.
