About Monkland

Monkland is a rural locality in the Gympie Region of Queensland, Australia, located four kilometres south-east of the Gympie centre on the north-east bank of the Mary River. The Bruce Highway and North Coast railway pass through the locality. It was historically a Scottish gold mining settlement and features Lake Alford Recreational Park and a Goldminer's Monument.
