About Barambah
Barambah is a rural locality in the Gympie Region of Queensland, bounded to the south-west by Lake Barambah created by the Bjelke-Petersen Dam. The Burnett Highway passes through the locality, and Barambah Homestead, a heritage-listed property built in 1906, is located within its boundaries. The area is historically significant as the original name for what became the Cherbourg Aboriginal community.
