About Pentland
Pentland is a small rural town in the Charters Towers Region, located on the Overlander's Way 107 kilometres west of Charters Towers. Established in the mid-1850s as a rail and communication junction, the town grew around gold, timber and cattle industries. It lies near the Burra Range Lookout overlooking White Mountains National Park and the salt lake Lake Buchanan.
