About Homestead
Homestead is a rural town and locality in the Charters Towers Region of Queensland, located about 74 kilometres south-west of Charters Towers and 210 kilometres south-west of Townsville. The township was named by pastoralist WD Stewart, who owned and established Homestead Station. The Flinders Highway and Great Northern railway line both traverse the locality.
