About North Toowoomba

North Toowoomba is a residential locality directly north of the Toowoomba city centre, with the railway network as its dominant physical feature. Originally developed as a support hub for the expanding railway in the late nineteenth century, it features a high concentration of pre-1946 workers cottages and Queenslanders. The New England Highway travels along Ruthven Street through the suburb, and St Thomas Anglican Church, relocated to its current site in 1920, is a notable local landmark.
