About Gowrie Junction

Gowrie Junction is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region of Queensland, north-west of Toowoomba, with the town of Gowrie in its eastern part. It takes its name from the Gowrie pastoral station (1841) and from its role as a railway junction, where branch lines to Warwick and Millmerran once left the main western line until the junction closed in 1959. Today the locality is a growing residential area for Toowoomba commuters.
