About Charlton (Qld)
Charlton is a rural locality in the Toowoomba Region of Queensland, about 13 km west of the Toowoomba city centre off the Warrego Highway. It lies at the foot of Gowrie Mountain, whose highest peak rises to 674 metres within the locality, and was served for more than a century by Charlton State School, which closed in 2013.
