About Savannah
Savannah is a remote rural locality in the Shire of Carpentaria in the Gulf Country of far north Queensland. The Norman River flows through tropical savanna from west to north-east, and the area is part of the traditional lands of the Gkuthaarn, Kukatj and Kurtijar peoples. The land is used mainly for low-intensity cattle grazing, and there are no community services.
