About Esmeralda
Esmeralda is a remote rural locality in the Shire of Croydon in the Gulf Country of far north Queensland, about 105 km south-south-east of Croydon. Crossed by the Richmond–Croydon Road, it is cattle-station country along the Yappar and Clara rivers; the locality takes its name from a hill named in 1873 by explorer George Dalrymple.
