About Piturie
Piturie is an extremely remote outback locality in the Shire of Boulia, Queensland, on the Queensland border with the Northern Territory. The locality lies in the Channel Country of far western Queensland, where braided river systems of the Cooper Creek and Diamantina floodplain occasionally transform the desert landscape after inland rains. Mount Isa, about 215 kilometres away, is the nearest significant centre.
