About Nive

Nive is a rural locality in the Shire of Murweh, south-west Queensland, on the boundary with the Blackall-Tambo Region. It takes its name from the Nive River, a tributary of the Warrego that explorer Major Thomas Mitchell named in 1845 after a river in south-western France. The area is part of the traditional lands of the Bidjara people.
