About Carpentaria
Carpentaria is a coastal locality in the Shire of Carpentaria, Queensland, on the southern coast of the Gulf of Carpentaria. It is a vast, sparsely populated area characterised by estuarine wetlands, mangrove-lined inlets, and savannah plains, used for cattle grazing and supporting important wetland habitats for fish, waterbirds, and dugongs.
