About Deception Bay
Deception Bay is a coastal suburb in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, located 37 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD. Named by Lieutenant John Oxley in 1823, who mistook the shallow bay for a river mouth, it offers genuine bay frontage and was historically used for dairying and farming before residential subdivision.
