About Beachmere
Beachmere is a coastal town in the City of Moreton Bay in Queensland, about 38 km north of Brisbane on the shores of Deception Bay, where the Caboolture River enters the sea. The name, meaning a beach upon marshy ground, came from the residence of Thomas Edwin Bonney, the area's first European settler, who arrived in 1870. Settled as a fishing community, it is known for its calm foreshore, boating and holiday character.
